Nestled in the heart of Olathe, Kansas, The Big Biscuit is a beloved breakfast and brunch destination that truly lives up to its inviting name. Specializing in hearty American fare, this family-friendly restaurant serves up generous portions that satisfy both the early riser and the casual lunch crowd with equal delight.
The menu reads like a love letter to classic Southern comfort food, with standouts like the rich and savory Biscuits and Sausage Gravy and the irresistible Chicken & Waffles that perfectly balance crispy fried goodness with sweet, fluffy batter. For those craving something indulgent yet unique, the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes are framed as a decadent twist on a breakfast staple, their sweetness amplified to a level that one happy diner claimed even surpasses Cinnabon.
The Big Biscuit shines brightest when it comes to its signature Benedicts. The Cowboy, laden with hand-breaded country fried steak or chicken, pairs beautifully with fluffy buttermilk biscuits and is smothered in generous ladles of sausage gravy—each bite a symphony of textures and bold flavors. The Traditional Benedict offers perfectly poached eggs over griddled English muffins, crowned with creamy hollandaise sauce, proving this spot is as adept at classic breakfast dishes as it is at innovative, hearty plates.
Omelet lovers rejoice here, with creations like the Ranchero Omelet featuring grilled steak, jalapeños, and a blend of Monterrey jack and cheddar cheeses, or the mammoth Titanic Omelet, packed with a medley of smoked ham, bacon, sausage, fresh vegetables, and hash browns—each a fulfilling feast in itself.
To complement the robust entrees, refreshing beverages like the Strawberry Lemonade with freshly pureed strawberries and the tart, cool Raspberry Palmer offer a well-rounded dining experience. Whether it’s their Citrus-infused freshly brewed teas or the classic Arnold Palmer blend, these drinks bring balance and brightness to every meal.

Thania was great serving us. Always with a smile and positive attitude, checking in on us often. The hostess seemed new and the other girl helping her was very patient teaching her what to look for. The food tasted great.
Thania is a great server! She took good care of us. We always go to Big Biscuit when we travel to visit our relatives in the KC area. The biscuit sampler was amazing
The food was absolutely phenomenal. I am a bigger guy and easily had two meals out of The Mayberry. Delicious! The service was so welcoming and kind. The server, Season, was so wonderful! Even the customer who sat next to me at the bar--definitely a regular--greeted me and made me feel at home too. Really a fantastic place that started my day off perfectly! Thank you!
We LOVE Don’t the Big Biscuit! Jose was oir awesome waiter! If you’re looking for a great place to have breakfast look no further this is the best and the business!
This was the first restaurant in Kansas we ate at on a trip from Illinois. And let me tell you…wow. I thought we had superior breakfast in Illinois but after eating here, I was quickly humbled. The chocolate chip pancakes were huge and had their own butter reservoir! The cinnamon roll pancakes taste better than Cinnabon. The peach palmer was perfect. We had so many leftovers we could feed a small army. The staff was friendly and helpful. The place was clean. Atmosphere is relaxed. I’d come BACK to Kansas just to eat breakfast here.
This place is awesome! We just moved to the area, so this was our first time at a Big Biscuit location! The menu is AMAZING! I highly recommend the salted caramel iced coffee and the pancakes! My mom had the French toast and said it was wonderful. Our server, Elliott, was super friendly and helpful! We really enjoyed having him as our server! We will definitely be back!
Our first visit to a "Big Biscuit" location, and we'll definitely be back, but we're much wiser now! The location manager gave us a free cinnamon roll when our server told him we were first time visitors, and that was a delicious treat! Caramel AND frosting on a huge cinnamon roll. Seriously consider how much food you can pack away before ordering, because it is a lot. A 'half' order of biscuits and gravy is one biscuit, broken in two, but each of these halves is a little bigger than a deck of cards. It really IS a big biscuit! The breakfast potatoes and the hashbrowns were crispy, but not burnt. We'd also recommend getting your hashbrowns "loaded" with the green peppers, onions, and cheese. All the staff we encountered were very nice, the restaurant was clean. It was a very busy place on a Sunday morning. A bonus that they serve Pepsi products. While a fountain soda was a $3.99 charge, the plastic tumbler was probably a 32 ounce size.
Season was stellar, listened, and got our orders out quick. Wife had the 3 platter and I had the Titanic. Solid meal, big portions, and overall my favorite location.
